Interior & workplace.

The Arocs cabs show what distinguishes a modern workplace.

Equipment Features.

The Multimedia Cockpit, interactive is an expansion of the Multimedia Cockpit. The central display has a size of 31.3 cm (12.3") and permits a choice between two screen designs. It also includes a navigation system, Traffic Sign Assist and Remote Online for the control of various vehicle functions via the smartphone.

Also integrated is Remote Connect for storage volume and access to the Fleetboard Store, which offers many convenience- and efficiency-enhancing apps for the Multi-Touch Display (26 cm, 10.25").

*Not available on all models.

The new multifunction steering wheel with Touch Control Buttons which is standard with the Multimedia Cockpits enhances ergonomics and ease of operation. A diverse range of vehicle systems and functions can be operated and information called up by swiping and pressing the Touch Control Buttons. The Touch Control Button on the right-hand side serves to operate the primary display (instrument cluster), while the Touch Control Button on the left is used for the secondary Multi-Touch-Display.

The new vehicle key not only looks good, but is conducive to simpler handling. In order to start the engine it is sufficient for the key to be in the vehicle, which means it can remain in the driver's jacket or trouser pocket while on the move.

In conjunction with the new convenience key, the locking system increases operating convenience and security.

In addition to the legally required light check, the driver's and co-driver's doors, the side windows and the sliding sunroof can be conveniently opened and closed, or unlocked and locked, by pressing a button on the convenience key using radio remote control.

The new electronic parking brake with hold function combines easier handling and greater safety.

It is automatically activated when the engine is turned off – but can also be turned on and off by operating the lever in the cockpit. The integrated hold function is activated when the vehicle is stationary – at a red light, for example – simply by pressing down hard on the brake pedal. The function is released once the accelerator pedal is operated again.

In combination with the Mercedes-Benz Truck Navigation for truck-specific, dynamic route guidance and Live Traffic Information, the Traffic Sign Assist function is available as an option. This information is presented on the primary display.

State-of-the-art driver support through optimum, traffic-dependent route planning. The system, with Mercedes-Benz Truck Navigation for truck-specific, dynamic route guidance and live traffic information, also uses the data from the Traffic Sign Assist system and displays it on the touch display.

For its optimised route planning, the navigation system makes use of precise maps from 49 European countries. Live Traffic Information is currently available in 27 countries. Map updates can be downloaded and installed independently if required.

In conjunction with the Multimedia Cockpits, the Arocs comes as standard with an integrated radio infotainment system that conjures up a whole new feeling in the cab. A digital radio featuring Digital Audio Broadcasting (DAB) is also optionally available. Numerous connection options are available for integrating external devices.

In addition to a radio with USB port, the multimedia Touch radio is also available. The video-capable digital radio with 7" touchscreen boasts simple, intuitive operation and high sound quality – and can also be used as a navigation device, thanks to Smartphone Integration.

For easier handling and better voice quality, the new Arocs can be equipped with the Convenience Telephony Plus and an inductive charging cradle.

An external telephone aerial and the integrated hands-free set with dual Bluetooth, to which up to two mobile phones can be connected, ensure perfect transmission quality. Wireless charging for smartphones of up to 6 inches (15.2 cm) via the inductive charging cradle

The connected smartphones are operated via the new multifunction steering wheel or alternatively via the Multi-Touch display Of course, connections for charging with cable are also available.

Instead of using conventional mirrors, the new Actros can come equipped the innovative, aerodynamically designed MirrorCam. Besides cutting fuel consumption by up to 1.3%, it provides an ideal view rearward and around the area of the A pillar. In addition, the MirrorCam improves safety, for example by automatically panning the camera image when manoeuvring, turning corners or changing lanes.

The camera system comprises two high-resolution fold-up cameras that are mounted on the upper roof frame. The camera images are sent to two 15.2" (38.6 cm) colour screens near the A pillar. To aid the driver in assessing the traffic behind him/her, the respective screen shows tracking and distance indicator lines as soon as he/she switches on the indicator at a speed greater than 30 kilometres per hour. Warnings alerting the driver to excessively tight turning angles add yet more assistance during manoeuvring.

The new assistance system aids the driver in recognising certain traffic signs in real-time, displays up to two of them in the instrument cluster simultaneously and thus makes for greater safety and driving comfort. What's more, it warns the driver both visually and audibly – for example in the case of exceeding speed limits.

Besides speed limits, overtaking restrictions and their lifting, Traffic Sign Assist also detects warning signs and restricted access signs applicable to trucks.

The new assistance system recognises certain traffic signs in real time and displays the two most important signs in the instrument cluster for enhanced safety and driving comfort. It also provides the driver with visual and audible warnings – when entering a one-way street in the wrong direction, for example.

The new driving assistance system improves driving comfort and relieves the driver, improves driving safety and reduces the risk of rear-end collisions. It does so by innovatively combining the functions of separate systems, making it possible to use partially automated driving even today.

Active Drive Assist advances Proximity Control Assist with stop-and-go function by adding autonomous braking and acceleration, allowing it to maintain the set distance to the vehicle ahead. Besides using Predictive Powertrain Control and Predictive Powertrain Control interurban, the system also utilises the Active Brake Assist 5 advanced radar and camera technology and Proximity Control Assist. Lane Keeping Assist and the electrically assisted Servotwin steering handle active lateral guidance of the truck.

The fifth generation of the system assists the driver in that, under ideal conditions and within the system's capabilities, it can perform emergency braking when approaching stationary and moving objects, and perform partial or full braking for moving pedestrians, thus mitigating or even preventing accidents entirely.

Interior design.

The StyleLine option lends the interior an even more stylish, modern character with aluminium-effect trim.

Along with the chrome strip and the lettering on the instrument panel plus the StyleLine badge on the exterior stowage compartment, the individual character is also underscored by chrome applications on the steering wheel, the steering column stalk and the parking brake. The chrome surrounds of the instrument cluster and the secondary Multi-Touch-Display2 add further brilliant highlights. High-quality velour carpet inserts for driver, co-driver and in the middle round off the individual character in style.

The optionally available TrendLine offers wood effect trim elements to lend the cab a warm and extremely homely atmosphere.

The striking trim strip featuring TrendLine lettering on the instrument panel is complemented by additional wood applications on the dashboard in front of the co-driver seat and next to the steering wheel. Also included are velour carpet inserts for driver, co-driver and on the engine tunnel and the TrendLine badge on the exterior stowage compartment. Beyond the wood trim elements, the steering wheel and column stalks with chrome applications and chrome surrounds for the instrument cluster and the secondary Multi-Touch-Display2 add further individual touches.
